Panda Surgical has been awarded Innovate UK funding as part of the Biomedical Catalyst to develop an AI "co-pilot" for robotic neurosurgery. In an 18-month collaboration with UCLH, the system will help surgeons navigate and stay oriented in the brain's most confined spaces. By keeping surgeons in control while offloading the repetitive tasks to AI, we aim to make minimally invasive brain surgery safer.

The investment will support the company’s upcoming first-in-human clinical investigation and further development of its novel handheld controller with 3mm wristed instruments, designed to bring robotic dexterity into confined space surgeries.
