Meet our newest team member
London, UK — January 07, 2026 — We are very excited to welcome Sam Hullait as the newest member of our Engineering team, taking on the role of our Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Sam holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick, and his experience spans large-scale surgical robotics companies and early-stage medtech startups. Previously, working at CMR Surgical, Sam led mechanical design improvements for robotic instruments from concept through to manufacture. He later joined Orthonika, a medical-device startup developing an implantable device, where he led multiple pre-clinical workstreams across engineering development, prototyping to regulatory strategy, and First-in-Human preparation.
Leveraging his deep expertise, Sam will spearhead the mechanical evolution of our hardware, helping to turn our current designs into a robust, commercial-ready system that is reliable for clinical use and optimized for large-scale production.
'I’m excited to be part of Panda’s mission and contribute to the company’s growth as its technology scales toward real clinical impact, helping deliver safer, more precise surgical solutions for patients and surgeons.’
- Sam Hullait
'We are thrilled to welcome Sam to our Panda Surgical team at such a pivotal stage of our growth. His impressive track record aligns perfectly with our mission, and his ability to combine engineering agility with complex regulatory requirements makes him a vital asset in accelerating our timeline toward commercial readiness.'
- Manios Dimitrakakis, Panda Surgical CEO
